Vinha da Francisca
Younger, Vinha da Francisca, named after Cristiano van Zeller’s daughter, was planted in 2004, the year in which Francisca turned 18 years old. Located in Quinta Vale D. Maria at two altitudes (190 and 230 meters high) and with exposures to the South and Southeast, Vinha da Francisca occupies 4 hectares of vineyard. The varieties planted in this vineyard, Sousão, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Rufete and Tinta Francisca, were those that had the best ability to create fresh, full-bodied wines. Vineyards such as Vinha da Francisca demonstrate that the Douro is capable of producing wines of exceptional freshness, maintaining body, balance, elegance and intense aromas.
