Quinta Vale D. Maria
Vinha do Moinho
Red
Going deeper into the Rio Torto Valley, still far from the heart of Quinta Vale D. Maria, is a very special old vineyard, the vinha do moinho. The name comes from an old grain mill that once stood there. The vineyard is divided into two parts, one facing west and the other, on a smaller slope, facing south. It is in this last one that the cradle of the wine it is named after is located. This wine, released only in exceptional years, had its first 2012 vintage released in 2021.
Vinha do Moinho
RedThe Quinta Vale D. Maria Vinha do Moinho presents a color with evolving nuances. The aroma is complex and rich, with balsamic, smoky, and spicy notes, over a base of ripe fruit. On the palate, it is fruity and full-bodied. Very well-balanced, dense, and concentrated, the fine, sweet, and firm tannins suggest great aging potential. This is an exclusive wine, which, in addition to originating from a special vineyard, produced only 512 bottles. It is a wine that invites you to slow down and recognize that truly exceptional things come with dedication, patience, and time.
