Quinta Vale D. Maria
Vinha do Moinho
Venturing deeper into the Rio Torto Valley, still some distance from the heart of Quinta Vale D. Maria, lies a very special old vineyard: Vinha do Moinho. Its name comes from an old cereal mill that once stood there. The vineyard is divided into two parts — one facing west, and the other, on a smaller hillside, facing south. It is on this latter slope that the wine which bears its name is born. This wine is released only in exceptional years, with two vintages available so far: 2012 and 2015.
Vinha do Moinho
Quinta Vale D. Maria Vinha do Moinho presents a colour with subtle hints of evolution. The aroma is complex and enriched by balsamic, smoky and spicy notes, layered over ripe fruit. On the palate, it is fruity and full-bodied. Exceptionally well balanced, dense and concentrated, the fine, sweet and firm tannins reveal remarkable ageing potential. An exclusive wine born from a special vineyard and produced in only a small number of bottles. An invitation to slow down and recognise that truly exceptional things come with dedication, patience and time.
